Learning how to listen actively has been one of the best skills I’ve acquired! It makes me live in the present and not always come up with something to say in rebuttal! Thanks for sharing.
A habit I recognize I need in my system is drinking water on a consistent basis and not off of feeling and when I feel like drinking. I am trying to convert my goals into habits, for example, I am trying to set a schedule to read in a daily basis. To do so I must make my surroundings support reading.
As the end of the school year approaches, I’ve been letting myself down in my productive habits. I think James Clear is right in that changing my system right now will help me achieve my goals by the end of this school year.
first off I like the ” small things that matter tips..very on point! I do believe that the pandemic has allowed me to slowly turn my goals into habits. just yesterday when meeting with friends I brought up a personal goal, and now I have a connection to help me achieve that 🙋♀️ let’s keep these habits going!
I need to reduce my screen time especially before bed and get back in the routine of waking up at 6am.
A habit i recognize I need in my system is something like a 5 min break, maybe like a meditation to just destress and get away from my phone and school. I think if I start to incorporate this into my system, it will be really beneficial by giving me mindfulness and a way to let go of any stress.
I need to cut down on my social media time!
I need to listen more and talk less and when I do speak it should be short and to the point.
Self discipline when it comes to working out and planning my day to make it happen.
I would like to establish a habit of doing 1% tribe every day. I keep falling off the wagon. I am open to suggestions. HELP!
Hi, Denise.
According to James Clear’s book, Atomic Habits, you need to do at least three things:
1) Link your daily entry and interaction within the 1% Tribe to another habit, such as checking your email.
2) Make participating in this 1% Tribe forum as attractive as possible by rewarding yourself every time you do it so you’ll want to do it each day.
3) Punish yourself when you don’t log in and take part in the Tribe. Make then punishment something will make you really want to avoid continuing to the Tribe, such as wearing mismatched clothes to work, eating something you hate, or paying someone $5 each time you forget.
I hope this helps!
As I stated many weeks ago, I need to become much better at multitasking. This will help me to save time and energy.
I’m trying to convert specific goals into habits by being consistent with applicable practices, procedures and systems.
