Thank you!
This is my mantra I either win or learn. I love this. I learned life isn’t fair, but life taught me that and I’ve learned to smile and appreciate everyday I wake up feeling healthy but illness taught me that. So there is always a TEACHER just maybe not the traditional ones.
Love your response, April. Yes, there’s always a teacher. Your post reminds me of something my mom would say when I was a kid… “If you don’t hear, you will feel.” It’s the Caribbean version of “You can learn the easy way or the hard way.”
😁
I think everything we learn is taught. I wouldn’t know it without a lesson behind it. I learned life is short so enjoy it while you can. I also learned take no one or nothing for granted. It can all be gone be gone in a blink of an eye.
Great post, Chevon. I agree 100%. Definitely appreciate who and what you have before they disappear.
I learned to treat others the way you want to be treated. I also learned life isn’t fair so work harder.
🤔
Cousin Q has asked another thought-provoking question.
Except for instinctual practices and involuntary, bodily functions like crying, breathing, eating, moving our bowels, crawling, walking, and growing, is there anything we learn without being taught in some way?
Even abilities that are supposedly “self-taught” are gleaned via some kind of indirect instruction (e.g., casual observation or inspiration via dreams and/or something in nature); not to mention that much knowledge is attained through non-traditional and virtual instruction. Having said that, I will simply state that two valuable things I’ve learned without someone sitting me down and saying, “Hey, pay attention to how I model this skill and communicate these concepts, so you learn this,” are (1) spackling drywall and (2) using coupons whenever possible.
😊
Experiences truly shape my thinking and learning. Love Mandela’s quote as well! This pandemic has enforced my belief that life is not promised – love daily and never forget to experience joy despite circumstances. My journey with cancer increased my faith and belief that God is in control and all things, even the not so great ones, can be triggers for amazing outcomes – always remember your blessings and learn to “pass it on” to impact the lives of others who might be struggling.
God Bless Tracie.
1) your plan does NOT equal reality. But sometimes reality blows you away with how much better it is than what you planned on
2) you can’t control how people react and you have to live and not take it personally, because it rarely really has anything to do with you
I learnt nothing is easy without working hard & life is so unpredictable so enjoy your life!
Tow valuable things I’ve learned without being taught
1- A lot of people tend to do things for you because they expect something in return
2- Family doesn’t have to be blood

Those are great Tori! I totally agree.
I’ve learned accountability & patience
Two things that come to mind are: 1. Failing is a great teacher. I gave up fearing failure because it’s where I learn what to do differently. 2. If there’s anything you want to accomplish, get started. Even if you don’t know where to begin, start somewhere. Every little step counts.
I liked the quote today! 2 valuable things I have learned without being taught are:
1) Compassion is repaid in the future ( either in happiness, support, help, or something else)
2) Age does not prohibit success at all, successful people come from all ages, sizes, and places!
