It is our attitude at the beginning of a difficult task which, more than anything else, will affect its successful outcome. ~William James

When having a negative attitude, I remind myself that mistakes will happen and that I can always change it and learn from them. I tell myself that I can do whatever I put my mind to and try to bring myself up. That helps me shift to a positive mindset from a negative one.
That was a good video! It helped provide a new perspective on this topic.
One thing that I do to turn a negative attitude into a positive attitude, in general, is to shift the environment Iโm in. Sometimes I read a book and just stop for a moment. Other times I turn on an upbeat song to help shift the atmosphere.
When learning something new I work to focus on what Iโm doing right and use that to help get motivation on how to improve what Iโm doing wrong.
When learning something new it’s important not to get discouraged. Remind yourself that you will eventually master this thing and soon it will become another skill to add to your repertoire.
When I feel myself going negative I chant my favorite scripture – โI can do all things through Christ that strengthens meโ…
Thatโs it… works every time. Find your own belief… value… saying… that can pull you out of negative thinking and get you back on the right track.
When you are starting a new project, and the whole process feels daunting, focus on one part at a time. If you take 10 small steps forward in three days rather than trying to take one big step forward in one day, you are more likely to achieve more and avoid getting burnt out!
I just tell myself that this will benefit me and that I could either get through this positively and have a good time or negatively and be miserable
I remind myself that not everything will be positive and life is full of ups and downs and to go downs means to be able to go up. So if you learn from your mistakes, adjust and thrive, then you are improving
When having a negative attitude, I try to advise myself to stop for a second and think about what purpose a negative attitude could serve. Then I try to think of all of the benefits that a positive attitude could have. The benefits from a positive attitude outweigh the energy thatโs put into a negative attitude so I try to think more in the future instead or my emotions right now.
that you really just have to have an open mind about it. you can’t go in thinking your going to not like it. also that you have to still try hard even though you are learning something new.
Loved the thought and the video today! Sometimes I wish I could fire the foreman in my kidsโ brain!
Taking a break and coming back to a new task can help change your attitude.
also that video was very good. learned a lot from it.
I think When learning something new first thing I tell myself is nothing is easy & also if i work hard i will get that no matter what.
The goal motivates me. I see myself where I want to be by learning this new thing, which helps me shift my negetivity to positivity.
Some advice I have for when you have a negative attitude is remind yourself of why you are doing it and what makes it worth doing. With that in mind, do the task, and it helps you be more positive as well as more enthusiastic.
I normally think about possible hurdles upfront and discard them, this allows me to focus on the targeted outcomes and quickly discard negative thoughts
Often when Iโm in a negative attitude, I take a deep breath and do something I enjoy such as basketball, video editing or sometimes video games. It gets me pumped and back in a good mood.
I take a breath and pause. Repeat phrases and mantras in my head and think of my goals. I try to recognize that the task I’m doing is helping me reach my goals. And that if it was easy, everyone would do it.
