Be Grateful
- Tell someone how they positively affect your life and how grateful you are for them.
- We can pursue happiness or pursue experiences that we know are worth having. When the two don’t overlap, which do you prefer ? Please share in the comments.

Thank you!
My preference is experience because the benefits will last me longer. The experience brings me happiness because I’ve learned from it, and I enjoy learning.
That is hard! I think I would pursue happiness. I think that experiences that are worth having are amazing! But, often we pursue these things so we could be happier have a better life. I don’t see the point in living a life that doesn’t make me happy. I think that as long as I am happy, I am satisfied with how my life is going and how it is progressing. If I am doing what makes me happy and I am striving to be the best at it, what more can I ask? I am REALLY glad that these overlap though!
Also, I like the quote today! I think that people often look over the people who came before them. Be thankful for them as you wouldn’t be where you are if those people didn’t do what they did.
So, Sidd, would your saying that happiness motivates you more than learning since experiences teach us new things or reinforce old things?
No, what I am saying is that happiness motivates me more than learning because being happy is what is most important to me. But, it is really close and I love learning as well!
that’s a deep question, have to think about it. but I Pursue experiences because they make me happy, its the spice of life. most of the time t hey overlap, if they don’t..I have to stop and rethink choices. 🤔
Happiness is so fleeting I’m not even sure how you pursue that sustainably. I pursue experiences that grow my character and that gets me closer to my purpose.
Love that Tracie!
I prefer happiness because in the end I feel like that’s what matters most
wait but then again experiences also help you develop and benefit you in the long run since you learn from them… that’s a tough choice 😂
Tricky.. my instinct is to pursue the happiness because of my Millenial (or just human) drive for immediate gratification. But as I’ve gotten older I try to practice going after the experience because they tend to bring joys you didn’t plan on AND open doors for more joy. Trying to practice more of “enjoying the journey and not just the destination”
I always pursue experiences worth having. Happiness isn’t brought on by something or someone. Too me happiness is what you make out of anything situation. Happiness comes from within so it’s up to me to always have happiness.
I love that!
I prefer experiences. I agree with Tracie’s thought about how can you pursue happiness. If they can’t overlap, I seek fulfilling experiences.
I Prefer experiences worthwhile having. They offer happiness plus many other benefits.
I want to say that I would prefer pursuing experiences, but that would be a lie. In the end, happiness wins out because I desperately try to find the joy, the pleasure, the satisfaction, the hope or promise of reward, or the silver lining in experiences. Even in pain, grief, and loss, one can find a measure of happiness in memories, prayer, meaningful tasks, caring for others, etc.
Experiences have made me what I am today. Happiness is a by product sometimes. I always stand with open arms welcoming Experiences that are worth having no matter how tough, unpleasant and difficult they can make my life. These experiences are what make me a better person every day and I feel I am one step closer to my goal with each experience.
Great question Coach.
I think I would usually defer to pursuing
happiness, because sometimes experiences that are “worth it” aren’t easy, and its easier to just defer to something that will give you short term happiness instead of a worthwhile experience. But, with time and awareness I’m learning to pursue those worthwhile experiences and put in the work rather than choosing the easier option at the time that will give short term happiness.
I pursue experiences I know are worth having. These experiences bring happiness in the pursuit. I get happiness every time.
