THREE FACTS ABOUT SLEEP:

1. Man is the only mammal that willingly delays sleep.

2. In general, exercising regularly makes it easier to fall asleep and contributes to sounder sleep. However, exercising sporadically or right before going to bed will make falling asleep more difficult.

3. People who don’t get enough sleep are more likely to have bigger appetites due to the fact that their leptin levels (leptin is an appetite-regulating hormone) fall, promoting appetite increase.

I needed to start my day with this. I’ve been taking midterms lately and I found myself having trouble focusing. So I did some mindfulness before I started and I felt great going into take the exam. Thank you so much!

Discipline is so important, I completely agree! I think those lessons are extremely valuable, especially waking up and starting the goals you want (like when in the beginning of the video he said to think about your goals, mine is to cut down on excessive screen time during this break and beyond), and for me, that starts with waking up in the morning and not checking my phone. Another important one is to block out time for tasks you want to accomplish.

I agree you also Ally. Something I want to do daily is to try to start doing my bed everyday. I feel like this would be a good way to jump start my day.

The idea of being more emotionally engaged with your goals really resonated with me. I’m going to start reminding myself what I want to achieve, even small goals like devoting more time to hobbies or reading, each morning!
