Happy New Year!
I stopped doing new year resolutions back in my 30’s because the things that I was hoping to achieve were out my control. So now I don’t wait til new year to set life goals, I do it on a daily, weekly, monthly basis
Hi Audrey! I agree that I also don’t wait until the new year to set goals. Why wait, right?
So true! I set my sights in what I need to do and prioritize accordingly and dig in!
I did adopt a phrase that I will keep in front on me though, “Life is too short to waste on things I do not love”
Denzel is right on point with that quote!!!
Happy New Year!!!!
I try to reflect on the year then give myself honest feedback. Inevitably, what I thought I needed at the beginning of the year is always different towards the end.
I agree, with the fact that some of my resolutions do change throughout the year. However I feel like some of my resolutions do continue through to the end of the year.
Last year I decided to do daily goals for myself instead of a yearly one. What I want for myself always is changing so a yearly goal seemed unlikely for me to achieve. I also feel I got a lot more done with my daily goals, so I will be continuing those for this year.
I like to set daily goals as well. I think it is a great way to accomplish more in a shorter amount of time.
I love this strategy. Small daily goals lead to big achievements. Thanks!
I do not set New Year’s Resolutions. I set goals for different timeframes throughout the year. I don’t wait until the new year to set goals because that would be a lot of wasted time. Also, then I would only be evaluating my progress once a year, whereas I check myself throughout each day.
I dont set new yrs resolutions. However i do set goals deadlines and things to accomplish throughout the year. Hit one goal cross that one off and add another. I have accomplished many things doing it this way yet i do feel i can increase my effort and shorten my time in achieving them. However i would like to know what you think about setting income yearly goals and should they be broken down quarterly and monthly?
Everything should be broken down to it’s smallest manageable steps. Then stack brick by brick until you have a wall..
Room..
House..
Mansion..
Complex..
Town..
Community..
Stop when you like.
This has been a tough year! At work we have all been in a survival mode . Doing the best we can under incredible circumstances and that has carried on to home . I want to end that by building healthier routines for myself
I agree with this quote because it is important to start trying to achieve your goals but you need to constantly be doing what you need to help you become successful everyday.
I do not have a new year resolution. I have so much to currently be thankful for. Health throughout my family is good. So many people have lost so much. I want to appreciate and live in my moments with gratitude.
I don’t make new years resolutions. I dont see why wait till the start of the year to make goals when you should be making them much more often on a weekly, daily monthly basis as well. I dont specifically make “New years resolutions”, but I make goals pretty often that I want to accomplish.
Also, Great Video!
🙏
My New Years Resolution is to continue the things I am doing such as consistent workouts and having enough sleep etc. Adding on to this I also like to make more specific goals for myself during the day and also weekly goals. This way I am able to see progress, stay on track and continue growing throughout the year rather than checking back with my resolutions at the end of the year.
Loved the message from Denzel Washington !! Falling forward is so important. Thanks for sending it!

My new year’s resolution is to improve my self-control and discipline.
As I think about it, I realize that I do make New Year’s resolutions. Sort of..
I always use the end of the year as a time to reflect on things that I’ve accomplished and things that I’m looking forward to doing next. I think of it more as a New Year’s review.
I should review frequently anyway but to have such an eventful time when we pause, (I mean, it’s a holiday) makes it a good opportunity to benchmark things I have accomplished and things I set my sights on in the future.
Also, starting in 2017, I also have a theme for the year [that year was gratitude] for which I create a routine to stop a bad habit [Trigger: something doesn’t go my way. Response: say something I’m grateful for]. This has worked tremendously, interestingly enough, with the same concept of a 1% habit.
The theme for 2021 is to Be an Idea Machine: Trigger: Every day when I make my task list. Response: Write down 7 ideas to make something 1% better. This will yield 2,555 ideas for the year. If 1% of those ideas are great, I’ll have 25 great ideas.
Lastly, [I have a lot to say!😂] 2020 taught me that I should use my love for numbers. I was motivated to walk & count steps every day for over 6 months because I set a goal in June to reach 2 million steps before the end of the year.
So I’m not changing my flow because we popped chanpagne last night, but I guess you can call the Idea Machine Goal a New Year’s Resolution.
Happy New Year!
I plan to eat healthier this new year. I want to cut a lot of carbs out of my diet and get rid of all the junk food. Last year I didn’t set a goal. I hope this year goes well.
I didn’t make one last year. But this year it will be to be as consistent as possible with school and athletics. This means I will get everything done I need too and also I will make a plan every week.
Instead of making New Years resolutions I constantly set and write down goals to make myself more motivated. Even if I’m not able to achieve it, I have accomplished more in less time as compared to as portentously wasting a year.
I remember when I started up my own Instagram strictly for videography and video highlights. Obviously due to Covid, I was hindered from recording more basketball games for my high school team. I am very excited to start up this hobby again, and this is probably what I want to pursue.
I haven’t done a new year resolution since I was younger and everyone else was doing them. This is for the simple fact that I don’t want to wait or just wish for things to happen to me. If I want things to happen I believe that I have to go make it happen.
I set goals at the beginning of the year and stay focused on them the first half of the year. Once school starts in the fall they tend to fade into the background and I don’t finish the year as strong as I started. This year will be different with the 1% Tribe. I have more days to work with and a process to stay engaged.
I usually make several different lists for goals I set for my self every week I try giving my self feedbacks on what I have accomplished and what I haven’t achieved.
I have definitely made new years resolutions in the past but they were always “i want to work out more” or “i wanna eat healthier” or “i want to look nice everyday”. This year, instead of making general “wants” in my head like I did last year, I’m gonna make “wills” (set direct goals). I can then make plans to fulfill these instead of having resolutions as passing thoughts.
I don’t do new year resolutions, but I work towards making each day better than the last. I believe that as long as I stay consistent it’s inevitable that I will accomplish my goals along the way.
I don’t necessarily have a New Year’s Resolution because I have realized I get bored and don’t really follow through with the word “resolution” (if that makes sense). Instead, I like to write down a few things on a piece of paper that I would like to invite or continue to have in my life within the following year. For example, I’d like to continue having peace in all areas of my life. I found that writing these intentions down on the night of NYE really helped me with the year coming up.
I agree with many of the comments. I don’t set New Years resolutions either ….instead I use New Years and Birthdays as markers for my goals🤔
