I think that it would be useful to break down large task into small less challenging task. I think that this will make it easier to start the task because it is not as big and scary as it was all together. This in turn could help cut down procrastination and make you more motivated to finish the tasks.

I agree with this completely. I try to implement this when doing school work and it really helps.

Housework is my biggest procrastination source. I put it off and put it off until there is loads of laundry abs piles of dishes and then I sit there and stress about having to do it all at once. The same goes with adding notes in the computer for work. I put it off because I only have a few and then next thing I know I have pages of notes to enter and the month is about to end. Then I stress trying to get it all in. It’s like simple tasks I just don’t feel like being bothered with.

I don’t usually procrastinate. I believe in getting things done in time.
After joining 1% tribe one tip that really helped me to get my exercise (Physical as well as breathing) done for the day, is habit stacking. More than procrastination I was never motivated enough to exercise. But Habit stacking helped me to get started and get going on that.

The thing I procrastinate on most is homework because it is not nearly as interesting or fun as many other things.

My biggest source of procrastination is definitely notifications from my phone like friends texting me, and game/social media apps like tik tok and instagram.

I procrastinate with anything that has to do with school. I usually push it off to the day before it is due or the day before I have a test. I wish I didn’t do this because most of the time it ends up being stressful

My two biggest procrastination sources are…

1. YouTube
2. Video games

Though I have cut down on my time spent on these apps, I still have a to work on avoiding them and spending my time more wisely.

I hope you all have a great day! Let’s get that work in!

I procrastinate on hard work deliverables and setting up time to network (needed but one of my lease favorite things to do). When I get stressed/overwhelmed with tasks I usually go to my phone – always things to do.: check personal email, look at kitchen designs on Houzz app, read the news headlines, etc… I find pleasure in these unproductive tasks 🙂

Homework is my biggest procrastination source. I always put it off and tell myself I’m gonna do it later even when I know it’s going to take longer if I keep pushing it off.

I think the idea of starting with the hardest task will be best because I find starting hard, however I think of it as a tank with a leak in it. In the beginning it is at full power and your fully concentrated however after a while, your mind starts to wander. So I believe this is a very useful techniques I use. Some things that I procrastinate would have to be school work and studying. I would also state that technology and jealously really wastes my time. When I say jealousy I mean in the sense that you wished you were outside with your friends but you have to study.

I procrastinate on my schoolwork the most, especially when I’m not in my usual routine of having in person class and basketball practice. It’s easy for me to get distracted or put off work that will be done much better if done immediately. I’m trying to make my own deadlines for assignments so that I don’t get backed up before the real deadlines!

I tend to procrastinate on two things…dusting the house and work involving technology. I dislike dusting as a cleaning chore. You think it would be satisfying because as soon as I swipe the furniture it is instant gratification- the dust is gone. Maybe it is because I have to move the Knick knacks..I just dread the chore. The second is any volunteer jobs that involve me on the computer using spread sheets or creating flyers, schedules, or creating anything on the computer. I just feel I am not computer savvy, so I avoid the task so I don’t get frustrated by the computer.

Some major sources of procrastination for me include the following:
•Lack of pressure (e.g., deadline is seemingly a long time from now; task is perceived as trivial or unimportant)
•Unclear objective(s) (i.e., it’s hard to get started when I’m not sure what goal(s) must be met)
• Fear of failing (i.e., it’s rare, but there are instances when I lie to myself and think that I won’t fail at a task if I don’t bother trying to accomplish it)
• Too much to do (i.e., if there’s too much on my plate, it may cause me to put off doing some of the things for a while; additionally, tasks perceived as way too difficult for me, such as certain DIY projects, may be postponed as long as possible)

Procrastinating can take different forms like resetting due dates, shuffling “to do” list items, or making excuses for why something isn’t done yet—particularly when someone else, such as a supervisor, can be thrown under the bus.

I’m working on not procrastinating at all by becoming a better manager of time like my wife is.

I think having more time to complete something and not understanding the implications of not completing or delaying the task are two main reasons for procrastination.

There is a very famous couplet from Kabir which translates as follows

Kaal Kare So Aaj Kar, Aaj Kare So Ub
Pal Mein Pralaya Hoyegi, Bahuri Karoge Kub

[Tomorrow’s work do today, today’s work now
if the moment is lost, the work be done how]

My sources are laziness and comfortableness. I procrastinate on homework and anything that requires a high level of seriousness.
