I am definitely a risk taker but I must be in an “all in” mindset to do so. On walks home from my middle school, I was offered weed several times and was curious to try, but knowing that the smell of it on me would mean my death by the hands of my mother caused me to never smoke anything—ever. As a teen, I chickened out several times (for fear of rejection) and didn’t risk asking certain girls that I’d secretly liked out on a date. My wife would say I’m a risk taker when I drive. (I think the speed limits are inaccurate.) I defend my rights at work and stand up to supervisors in person and via email. (Did I mention I belong to a strong union?) In short, I calculate the risk to reward ratio, so to speak, but I’m motivated by what’s important to me. It’s probably true of most people. Right?
I think that I am a risk taker. But I don’t think I consciously calculate the risk to reward. Most of the time I think it is subconscious.
I’m not a huge risk taker at all. I take very tiny risks because I would stress out over the loss of it didn’t pan out
I take a fair amount of risks, but I don’t usually calculate the risk or reward before doing the risk.
I try to be a risk taker, but especially in sports, I tend to get in my head. I think the mental mindset of risk taking is one I have to continue to develop and work at.
I’d say I’m a risk taker to a certain extent. I think as we journey through life, we have to take certain risks in order to move forward. Sometimes our choices are risks.
I would definitely say that I am a risk taker, however I would say that I ignore the calculating part and understanding the amount of risk is never really crossing my mind. I only think about the reward and usually think about how sweet that reward could be. I do this because if I over think something I usually talk myself out of it and I would usually regret not taking that chance.
I don’t think I’m a risk taker, per se. I do calculate risk to reward, because I am very methodical when it comes to things like investments. But I do believe the manta, with great risk comes great reward! ( but you Mus t have the stomach for it) 🙂
If you get half way in your journey and stop and stop to consider turning back. Remember that that moving forward is the same distance going back. The only difference is moving forward will take you to a place you’ve never been. I always tell my wife and son; to+get+there=together. Let’s move forward together.
I try to be a risk taker. I usually do calculate the risk to reward ratio. I like too see if the risk is worth the reward or if the risk is something that’s worth taking.
Honestly , I’m not a risk taker. I think it is a good and bad thing to be a risk taker. Some people are too risky and aren’t smart about what they are doing and tend to get into trouble. Others play it too safe and miss out on opportunities. I think there is a fine line between the two…
I agree, there is a fine line!
I try to be a risk taker… but I don’t calculate the risk to ratio reward.
I am a risk taker but I analyze every situation based on the value of the reward and if the risk is worth it . It doesn’t have to be a life changing event , it can be the small everyday event such as shutting off the television an hour early and risk missing out on”entertainment”. The reward is going to be my weight loss for being able to get up early to work out everyday.
I’m a huge risk taker lol. Like you said you never know the limits until you test them. And I don’t necessarily calculate every risk to return ratio because the moment can vanish quickly
I am not really a risk taker on dangerous things and I do calculate the risk to reward.
