Striving to become a better person everyday. I want to be more compassionate, understanding, effective, loving and powerful. I spend a large part of my day teaching young people how to survive on the roadways and I don’t take this lightly. The teenagers are so young and full of potential with big dreams and I don’t want anyone’s life journey to be cut short because of a senseless accident. So just like with my own daughter I give them all the knowledge, information and advice I can in our short time together.

What is driving me most this year is taking advantage of the things I love doing while still in high school. I’ve just been trying to take opportunities as they come, joining clubs I’ve never done before, working extra hard in my classes, and doing activities outside of school.

Good question about what drives me. I know the process of daily progression towards a goal, no matter what it is, drives me to push forward with a focus on getting better. This year I am taking small steps and investing short spurts of time daily. Overall spending more time than last year.

What drives me is establishing and maintaining good relationships, which involves helping to provide my family, myself and others with fundamental needs and wants, such as social, emotional and physical care, spiritual growth opportunities, and experiential learning.
As a husband, father, son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, friend, colleague, employee, and associate, I give the aforementioned drive daily attention.
The question for today reminds me of a song titled “Walking Shoes” by Mali Music, which speaks to the inner drive of the artist to achieve higher levels. (See lyrics below).

Got my walking shoes on
Can’t tell you where I’m going
but I’m walking down this lonely road
But at least the scenery is beautiful
And no matter what I do I can’t stop walking, no
I know its the only way to go
And if I keep walking I’mma be ok
It’s not always about knowing why
Sometimes its all about knowing what
And that’s enough to keep you walking everyday
Yeah, I believe, I believe
But its a dream that I ain’t seen yet
Chasing a dream that I ain’t dreamed yet
But I’mma meet it halfway if I keep on walking, walking, walking
If I keep on walking
Yeah, I know it when I see it walking, walking
When I see it walking
Always waiting for something good to find you
But if it don’t come what are you gone do
And that’s why I’m walking, walking
Gotta keep on walking, walking
I tell you when you’ve got a made up mind
Even though winter feels like summertime
In the night you see the light of day
Cause I’ve been blind for way too long
And you can’t take my light away
Even though all my times aren’t happy times
I get unsure and hope for brighter days
I never let it slow my pace
So knowing failure ain’t an option
And I’ve been promised
And I’m on my way up
Said I believe, I believe
But its a dream that I ain’t seen yet
Chasing a dream that I ain’t dreamed yet
But I’mma meet it halfway if I keep on walking, walking, walking If I keep on walking
Yeah, I know it when I see it walking, walking
When I see it walking
Always waiting for something good to find you
But if it don’t come what are you gone do
And that’s why I’m walking, walking
Gotta keep on walking, walking
Step 1, step 2, step 2, step 3
Step 1, step 2, step 3
Thy Word’s a light unto my path
A lamp unto my feet
These shoes, these shoes, these shoes, my shoes
Walking towards the promise
Walking towards much better land
Said I believe, I believe
But its a dream that I ain’t seen yet
Chasing a dream that I ain’t dreamed yet
But I’mma meet it halfway if I keep on walking, walking, walking If I keep on walking walking
Yeah, I know it when I see it walking, walking
When I see it walking
Walking shoes, walking shoes

Honestly, I think the fear of not being great is what drives me the most. I haven’t given it a lot of attention recently. I have been trying to figure out why that is lately but now I just need to start doing rather then trying to figure it out lol.

Just not being able to do what I want when I want. Everyday I try to change that

Striving to become a better person inside and out drives me. One step everyday to better myself keeps me going. When I look back on the road I feel so good that I made that journey to be what I am and where I am today which encourages me.

What drives me the most is learning new things. I have not been doing this as much as I should be, but I have been learning through school and other out of school activities, as well as youtube videos about things I enjoy like programming.

Growing as I age and not just going through life but having a purpose. The last 2 years has been about that growth in one area or another.
This and other daily motivational, educational , and supportive information has helped me stay on track.
